My current research portfolio comprises:

·         Corporate Reporting and the Internet, from a disclosure and continuous reporting perspective

·         IT Governance

·         Information technology controls and assurance

·         Continuous assurance

·         Data warehousing, data mining and auditing

·         eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL)

·         Semantic modelling of database accounting systems

I employ a range of research paradigms and research technologies including both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Research paradigms have included archival, experimental and design science. Research tools include text analysis, Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis (CAQDAS) and a variety of statistical techniques.

Extensive teaching experience in Assurance and Auditing with a particular emphasis on Information Systems Auditing; Accounting Information Systems; Electronic Commerce and XML technologies and Management and Financial Accounting. Considerable experience and research in the application of information technologies to teaching and learning; curriculum development and educational quality management and review.
